Ways you can make a Difference

Financially

Quest Farm's support comes from a tuition, financial contributions, corporate grants, and volunteer work done by individuals or groups. We do not receive any state or federal funding. Although tuition is kept modest, there are farmer's families that need assistance. Since we never want to turn down a farmer because of insufficient funds, we have recently established a Scholarship Fund that assists families who are unable to pay the full monthly amount. Presently, we have needs from $25 - $300 per month. If you would like to contribute to this fund, please designate Scholarship Fund on your donation.

We have also developed an Endowment Fund. There are always going to be needs and they seem to keep growing. It is important for Quest Farm to have its needs met so that the farmers can receive a quality life. The Endowment Fund is a great way to help the farm financially. It is important for Quest Farm to look toward the future and plan accordingly. The Endowment Fund is managed by a professional group so any gifts toward the Endowment Fund will be used in the most practical and professional way. Stocks, bonds, memorials, honorariums, and insurance policies are great ways to contribute to the farm and the Endowment Fund.

As always, general donations for operating expenses are welcomed. Many individuals have chosen to contribute to the farm on a regular basis and some churches and civic clubs donate budgeted amounts and/or gifts in kind. It is these contributions that make Quest Farm a success. Although we have been able to operate with a low percentage of contributions, it has been a struggle. Our goal is to get our contributions up to 50% of the total budget.

We have now registered with www.guidestar.org and www.helping.org which enables us to receive donations on-line. They provide a secure server at no cost to you or us. We have provided a quick banner below for anyone interested in donating over the internet.

All contributions are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the IRS code.

Volunteers

There are many ways that individuals, couples, or groups can help at Quest Farm on a voluntary basis. Besides the never ending maintenance and repair jobs, there are often times that a staff member could use a volunteer because of an appointment, a family emergency, or just some quiet time. Extra help is always needed in the Quest Farm Garden Center and Country Store, and at other locations where the farm has products for sale. Drivers are often needed to take residents to appointments, for hair cuts, to the library, or Special Olympics practices or events. Construction jobs also seem to be plentiful. RV pads are being prepared for any volunteers who would like to have an extended stay, and often there is a guest bedroom available for one or two nights.

If you or your group from church or club are interested in volunteering some of your skills and time, contact the Quest Farm office at (502) 535-6064, or write to Volunteer Work Coordinator at Quest Farm, Inc., 627 Glass Pike, Georgetown, KY 40324. You will be pleasantly surprised at the satisfaction you will receive from being a part of this exciting project and spending time with these happy, productive folks. If you are not familiar with the beautiful Central Kentucky area, allow time to visit the spectacular horse farms, University of Kentucky (home of the Wildcats), the state capitol, and the Toyota plant. Several of the state parks are also just a few hours from Georgetown.

Shop for Quest Farm

For all the on-line shoppers out there, there are ways that you can make a difference. There are several sites that allow you to name the non-profit organization of your choice when making purchases. A percentage of the purchase then goes to the organization you name at no extra cost to you. The sites offer shopping at many of the well known web shopping sites (i.e. Amazon, Barnes and Noble, etc.) and many of them have about 150 retailers. We have signed up with shop2give.com, greatergood.com, ireachout.com, and 4charity.com to be in their registry of non-profit organizations, but the other sites do not have a registry and just ask that you name your favorite non-profit organization. If you are thinking about shopping on-line, please remember that you can help support Quest Farm. The sites that allow you to give a percentage of your shopping purchases to non-profit organizations are: www.greatergood.com, www.4charity.com, www.igive.com, www.shop4charity.com, and www.shop2bless.com. You can access some of these sites through our quick banners!
