Flowers

At Quest Farm, horticulture is one of the primary focuses. The participants at Quest Farm plant and raise many flowers throughout the year. Planting in the four greenhouses begins the first week of March. Many of the individuals and staff participate in caring for and planting the various spring plants and working in a greenhouse during the winter to get the spring plants ready. Many of the plants that are grown for the spring are pre-orders, but extra flowers are always grown for community sales and are for sale to the public.
The other plant sales that are prominent at Quest Farm are mum sales. Mums are planted the first week of June and are ready to be sold by the end of August. Throughout mum season, approximately 1,300 mums are sold to the community. Quest Farm also grows 200 mums for the Premier Horse Show in the first weekend of October to help beautify their event. The mums are grown in a wide variety of fall colors with bloom dates beginning the first of September to the middle of October.
